The Deerhound is one of the most decorative of dogs, impressively stately and picturesque wherever he is seen, whether it be surrounded by the surroundings of the baronial hall, reclining at luxurious length into the future the door hearth in the fitful fresh of the log blaze that flickers concerning polished armour and tarnished tapestry; out in the retrieve, straining at the leash as he scents the dewy sky, or gracefully bounding beyond the purple of his indigenous hills.
